Help Families Affected by Cancer
On December 5, 2018 TRIO (Translational Research In Oncology) will be holding a silent auction and bake sale to raise funds for an initiative in partnership with the Cross Cancer Institute here in Alberta. The money raised will help cancer patients and their families to overcome the financial hardship that comes along with the disease and its treatment. At Shores Canada we decided to support the event with a small donation.
We invite our customers, partners, and readers here in the region to stop by and to take a peek at the auction items, place a bid, and/or enjoy some home-baked sweets. A Quick Introduction to the Cause
TRIO is a not-for-profit clinical research organization that conducts clinical trials testing a wide range of innovative anticancer agents in many types of cancer. For this fundraiser, TRIO partnered with the Cross Cancer Institute, a facility that provides a range of healthcare services for people with cancer.
The funds raised during this event will be made available to the "Psychosocial and Spiritual Resources" department at the Cross Cancer Institute, which provides psychological, social and spiritual support to cancer patients and their families. The proceeds will help to purchase gift cards that can be used for gifts, food, and clothes, and will be issued to families with a family member diagnosed with cancer, and that are struck by financial hardship during the Holiday season.
Cocktail Collection
Shores Canada is donating a cocktail collection with mixing bases for drinks from different regions, a cocktail shaker and set of champagne glases.
